The Making of a Showcase Home: Part 3. Cutting & Fabrication

We are going through the step-by-step process of our countertop process.
Today is Part 3: Cutting and Fabrication.

Need to catch up?  Read...
Part 1: Slab and Edge Selection  and then...
Part 2: Templates and Slab Delivery

After the we have the job templated and the slabs have been delivered we can begin the cutting and fabrication.

We have two saws in our shop.  This job was cut on our Gmm bridge saw.  Here's one of the kitchen pieces being cut.

After the job has been all cut we start fabricating the countertops.  This includes edging, sink cut outs, etc.  The cutting and fabrication process can take anywhere from a day to a week depending on the size of the job, the edge detail, the shape of the countertops, etc.
Here are some photos of the countertops being worked on in the shop.  This first picture is the kitchen island.

Next is of the back of the Squak Mountain Stone slabs.  It's really cool to see the paper and texture in this slab.

The countertop in the photos below is the corner of the perimeter in the kitchen.

Next is the final step...installation!  Stay tuned.
