Slab Sunday: Mombasa granite

Mombasa is quarried from a bedrock quarry in Brazil (not in Kenya, like you might think).

Mombasa is a really pretty granite that has browns, grey, black, rust, creams and even green sometimes.  It's a granite that changes drastically from bundle to bundle so be sure to pick out your exact slabs.  Below are two full slab pictures to show you some of the variation.

It was actually really hard for me to find pictures online of this granite.  The availability of this stone has been hit or miss in our area anyway.
I do have a gorgeous small piece of it right now though.  It would be perfect for a vanity.  Call or email us today if you are interested!

The Mombassa is cut into the island of Absolute Black granite in the photo below.  I have honestly never seen an island like this before, the more I look at it the more I like it.  It's very unique.

Mombasa is available in 2 cm and 3 cm slabs.

An alternative name, in some areas, is Havana.
