Slab Sunday: Vyara granite

Vyara granite is quarried from a bedrock quarry in India.

This granite can change quite a bit in pattern and coloring from bundle to bundle. Be sure to select your exact slabs when using Vyara.
Sometimes it has green tones, sometimes it has a lot of rust. Overall the granite is salmon, cream & grey. My favorite part of this granite is the dramatic veining & movement that it has.

I just love this kitchen below. I think it looks clean & modern without being stark. A very warm, comfortable & inviting kitchen. The cabinets work perfectly with the Vyara granite.

Vyara is also commonly spelled Viara.
Other names for Vyara include: Indian Parana, Juparana Vyara, Uyara, Golden Sunset, Vyara Indian Parana, Vyara Gold and Viara Classic.

Vyara is a very durable granite, so you will see this used fairly often in outdoor applications. It is, of course, great for kitchens, baths, etc.
This is one of the granites that has been widely available in the US for a lot of years. While it is still being installed all the time now days, you will see a lot of homes from the 80's & 90's with this granite.

Vyara is available in 2 cm and 3 cm slabs as well as tile.
