Carrara Marble Powder Bath & Galaxy Black Granite Fireplace from MGS by Design

Continuing with the Parade Home I first showed you on Monday, today I have the beautiful Powder Bath & the Great Room Fireplace.

As I said the other day, the Interior Designer, Clayton Thompson* is ridiculously good at finding antique furniture pieces and having them refinished and repurposed.
He did it again with the beautiful furniture piece turned vanity cabinet in this Powder Bath...

We fabricated & installed a new slab of polished Carrara marble to fit this antique furniture piece, but you would swear it was the original to the furniture because it fits & matches so well.
Clayton designed the backsplash to be extra tall to keep it to scale with the vessel sink and faucet.  We basically built two boxes and then they "set" the upper furniture shelf on top of them.
It's all in the details and Clayton is great about paying attention to every little detail.

The edge detail is a 1 1/2" laminated Double Waterfall (not to be confused with this Waterfall edge).

We also did the Fireplace Face and Hearth in the Great Room.
The granite is Galaxy Black
As you can see the hearth sits flush into the hardwood floor.  I really like this detail rather than having it stick up slightly and be a tripping hazard.

That's all for today, but come back because I've still got a lot more of this beautiful home to show you!
