Slab Sunday: English Brown granite

English Brown is quarried from a bedrock quarry in India.
English Brown has a black background with flecks of blue/ grey and tan.  Some slabs will be quite bluish/ grey while others will be warmer like the photo above.
Even though this is a fairly consistent stone I'd still highly recommend selecting your exact slabs.

Other names for English Brown include: Sapphire Brown, Sapphire Blue and English Blue.

One of the benefits of this stone is that the English Brown quarry produces very large slabs.  This is great if you have a really long island that you don't want a seam in.

English Brown is available in 2 cm & 3 cm slabs as well as tile.

Is this color similar to Sapphire Blue? It looks pretty close to it.
