I love them all, but I'm particularly fond of the first one. I just love kitchens where the majority of one wall is made up of windows. Well worth losing a bit of cabinet space, in my mind.

Could you please site a source for saying that dying or oiling granite is illegal? I've heard fabricators say that before ("Sometimes these are dyed" etc.) and even though it sounds super sketchy, no one had ever mentioned that being anything other than undesirable, not illegal.

A benefit to him is he gets a new surface and gets help spending money on it. The obvious advantage for you is that it'll cost you less to repair the damage you brought on. All is not missing though. You get to reside in a place having a new kitchen countertops.

On that note, I've seen a waterfall edge that was done with a different edge profile (i think it's called shark nose) and a miter joint. This gave it a softer look that would look great in a more transitional design.

You know, I was thinking about that last night as I was putting together this post. I'd say in general it's more of a modern design element.
While scouring the web though I found quite a few kitchens with the Waterfall edge that weren't necessarily modern. I think it has a lot to do with the cabinets and the stone.

I have had juparana persa in my kitchen for 8 years now, and in 2010 painted my 90's oak cabs white. Love the look! Never a stain or problem and we are big cookers and red wine drinkers! I have a tumbled taupe color limestone backsplash and with small diamonds of the granite to tie the two areas in visually. Now we are building a new home and I am probably going to use it again. I can't find any kind I like better!

From what you describe I think the Giallo Ornamental Guidoni would be a great choice for your kitchen.

Hello, I am considering Giallo Ornamental Guidoni for my kitchen and was wondering if you could tell me if it would be a good choice. My cabinets are Natural Cherry which have darkened over time. I have oak floors and black appliances. Other choices I've considered are White Montecarlo and Persian Cream.

Hey I want to add some info about this island. We built the metal frame because they did not want any corbels to support the island. We wanted ti to be free of knee knocking and look clean. THe actual span of the overhang is in the area of 22" and needed something that would hold some serious weight and force. The metal frame was an extra charge but well worth the free leg space underneath the island. Just another thing that MGS does to go the extra mile for our clients. These were great people and we were happy to send 9 of us to hang out with them for a while.
One other funny note... The homeowner actually asked me what he should do in the even that the island fell through his floor and in to the basement below. He was half joking but half serious because with a 6cm edge and that size of island you are talking well over 1200 lbs.

Sure wish you were in Texas. We are in search of the Iron Red / Magma granite and is very limited, especially in San Antonio. Looking for 129.29 sq feet. Can you help?
