Comment here if you think there is a countertop material out there that is bulletproof. I would seriously love to know what that is.
This guy wrote about CaesarStone staining after he wrote on it with Sharpie. Well duh. Was he really expecting it to be bulletproof? Read about it here.
Even if he can get this particular stain out there are limits. There are limits to everything in life, right?
Am I totally off base here?

Three things. 1. I feel another Mythbusters episode going on. The Sharpie versus different countertop surfaces. 2. If you really can't get that Sharpie off - good add for Sharpie PERMANENT markers and 3. This is an EXCELLENT promotion FOR the surface - if I came home and found my kids had Sharpied my countetop, I'd be THRILLED if I could get it off as much as the picture shows! REALLY!
Melissa-
You crack me up. Maybe I should do a Sharpie Mythbusters!
I agree, I think Sharpie's are a mother's worst nightmare. So if you were able to get Sharpie off of ANY surface as well as they got it off the CaesarStone I think most moms out there would be totally happy.
Seriously!?! What was he thinking! But, in his defense, the Quartz reps I see do try to sell this stuff as indestructible.
Now, I have to go find some old samples to run some tests on...
Andrea- My CaesarStone rep gave me the recipe to get the Sharpie off, but it dulls the surface of the CaesarStone...so I'm not sure if I'd prefer a light stain or a dulled spot.
I agree though, I think all quartz reps tote their product as bulletproof.
Hello,
I'm the "Guy" that did the test. We get sales reps in all the time to our countertop showroom that talk about their product as being stain proof and non-porous.
A consumer posted a question to me from the www.CountertopReview.com website and I wanted to give here quality information.
I was told by the rep that the Sharpie would come out. we have yet to find a cleaner that will remove it. I have also used acetone on it with no luck.

Andy-
I'm glad you found us.
Great test! It's been interesting to show our quartz reps when they come in. :)
