Labrador Antique is quarried from a bedrock quarry in Norway, where most stones with the bright, iridescent blue flecks of Labradorite are found. The quarry was opened in May 1996.
You will also see Labrador Antique called Labrador Antique Blue, Falcon Eye, Mahogany Blue Eyes and Spektrolite Brown.
Labrador Antique is available in 2 cm and 3 cm slabs as well as tile.
I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend!

This is such a beautiful stone. I am trying to get enough courage to use it with my maple cabinets. The colors are beautiful. I just feel like it might make my dark kitchen even darker.
I love this stone - I am trying to gather enough courage to use this with my maple cabinets. The combination looks lovely. Will this be a stone that will look dated in a few years?
Hi Jenna-
I don't think this stone will look dated at all.
It's a beautiful, rich looking stone.
Also it's neutral enough that I don't think you would get sick of it.
It will make your kitchen darker though, so if you are worried about that you may want to look at lighter stones.
Good luck!
Wow, that is GORGEOUS! Thanks for posting pics!!
I just had this countertop installed yesterday and love it! My kitchen has natural maple cabinets and floors that have aged to a nice honey color over the last 16 years. The wide old fashioned window sills are hemlock, stained a nice cherry color. My kitchen is all white with cobalt glassware and cobalt glass knobs which coordinate nicely with the blue flashes in the granite! For lighting I have 50 watt halogen cans in a 9ft ceiling. It's amazing how the colors change as you walk around the room. I do think I am going to change the wall color to a nice light taupe though for a richer look, as the white seems a bit to stark. I haven't decided on a backsplash yet as I want something that will go with my Victorian Farmhouse look. The large tiled backsplash above looks promising though!
You MUST see this granite in person as a picture doesn't come close to showing all the different tones it has or the peak-a-boo flashes of blue. It is even better installed than the small sample we tested at home. A must see!

Julie-
I'm glad to hear you are loving your new countertops!
I agree, Labrador Antique is a stone best seen in person. Pictures can't do it justice. It's so gorgeous.
